Senegal/Fatick: Villages in the commune of Ndiob benefit from the "ImpactSites" project

The Minister of Territorial Communities, Development and Land Use Planning has inaugurated the "ImpactSites" project in the commune of Ndiob (Fatick), according to his office.

According to a statement sent to APS on Sunday, this device "is part of the Pilot Project for rural electrification of the villages of Bacco in Ndiob."
It explains that the project is to ''exploit the challenges and opportunities existing in the rural environment and take advantage of solar energy and productive use solutions to stimulate local economies in rural areas of Senegal''.
A solar power plant of 50 KWp is installed for this pilot phase, with a connection to the grid of 5 km.
According to the press release, a water purification and desalination system with a capacity of 2,000 liters per hour is connected to the solar plant.
It adds that a SatCom system (Internet) and a cold room containerized autonomous in solar ''are made available to the populations'' of the villages of Bacco Dior, Bacco Sérère and Bacco Mboytolle.
The same source stresses that the project, implemented by Africa Green Tech, is the result of a partnership between the municipality of Ndiob, ASER and the developer.
The Minister of Local Government, Development and Territorial Planning, spokesman for the government, welcomed "an innovative approach".
In the presence of the German Ambassador, Oumar Guèye "returned to the considerable effortsof the Head of State for "universal access to electricity". He praised the approach of the mayor of Ndiob, Oumar Bâ, which, according to him, "is in line with Act 3 of decentralization".

The Minister urged mayors to "go in this direction to take care of the concerns of the people by initiating this kind of project.
